Content Description | Photograph accompanying the diary of Henry F. Pitcher. Informal photograph of men sitting and standing, wearing summer hats. Many instruments are hanging from a tree(?) on the left. The large drum reads "Elmira [?] Cornet Band." A note written on the back in ballpoint pen by a later owner indicates that Pitcher is "4th man from right, facing picture [i.e., camera]. full beard and mustach [sic] - TFS." Severely darkened and stained, with insect damage. Hard to view image. |
