Includes discussions of Captain Cleveland's voyages to China, Hawaii, Alaska, South America, California and the Northwest coast from 1799-1803. His voyages to Alaska and the Islands in 1799 and California in 1803 pertained mostly to the fur trade. Includes descriptions of his impressions of Native Americans. Cleveland was partners with William Shaler. |
