Content Description | Perez writes to the mayor of Santa Clara to announce the victory of Antonio Lopez de Santa Anna over the rebels at Zacatecas in Mexico. Hopes he will send forth congratulations for this glorious event. Perez became Governor of New Mexico in 1836 and was decapitated in 1837 for trying to impose taxes from Santa Anna.
