My dear husband,

23. I send you a letter which came from Canada with Abraham Jahannes he made the propositions and is now going to Taghkanuck and Roelof Janse kil to look after the animals and to see what trees have died Jan the Frenchman told me that you should speak for pipes and disks (?) and said that you should not let anyone else and they are very .....read that letter he comes himself or he will tell you himself and you should try to get a pass and that Jan will be allowed to go with the Canadian prisoners will be the best and he said that you should have 7 or 8 hundred 11 guilder pieces if you have a pass he said that they xxx xxxx do very well there Abraham now goes off/or Dirk and Wessel will do together
Jan wants to be in the pass himself and Hansoom muslin has done very well also both flowered and striped a dakdaalder (piece of money) of 11 guilders goes for one French crown
