Dear husband
This one goes with Ghosse I have received your letters and 2 from mister Wessels and the one in which you wrote about the beer for milord that letter was open and he said that he had not seen it you should seal that much better the animals (?) are in the boat with (old) Henricken I have already had 2 men with that and they only brought 6 along and now they have gone again the three of them to fetch the remainder (which) the negro can not do (anything) I wonder that you didnot have a man with them who understands the river now it will cost you more than if you had had one there who could bring it up for they are continuously stuck and do not dare to sail by night I send you a small barrel with nails for shingles and some for doors and windows in a small chest I have spoken to Wout about the baking but they are not ready for hearths because of the continual rain it has been spoiled so we can not be helped there until next year I have checked your invoice on that cargo and I have xxxx put on a paper what you should add to that I think for sure that you will have the same experience with that as with Fletsyer (Fletcher) he also gave you an invoice and in the meantime he used an old one if you can count on that for sure we can take it in stride I have heard that Domenie had the Indians over at his xxxxxx place but I haven’t heard what they have done there with the interpreter and the Indians
what you write me will remain between me and you probably should accord with Brantoom for that hundred lb. and do give then the interest so we may be credited in mother’s book for I hate to give interest I will send that man (?) off again as soon as I can and send a man along to load those boards with this break off and commend you into the protection of the Most Highest your loving wife Alida Livinghston
