My dear husband
I long to hear from you how it is with your affairs if there is a chance to get our money and how the assembly is inclined we have had much rain and much adversity with the dam but now think to mill in 14 days if the weather remains good they are working very hard they have all the hands we have yet sown only 31 bushel we have our pigs in the meadow at the mill we can not keep them in the woods and we have pounded earth around the pallisades at the mill meadow and around it but x he can not start on that fence at the meadow before the dam is finished for he needs all the hands and can not get any people but for whom the ones we had when you left de Sijuts colonel/Kornelis (?) Maris came here Tuesday afternoon with a hard north wind and stayed here till the evening we had no sale so he went with his boat and took our Joseph along to show the way now it is already Friday would have returned with t the horse but is not yet home just now I have received your letter and hear that Mr. Sinneson was at Japick’s last Tuesday and Marte took them to Klaverack so it would have been at least Wednesday evening before they arrived there I think the de syuts arrived there Wednesday before noon and has been well received I wonder where our yacht remains for so long Salsberrie has been here when he came from the highlands/upstate but did not talk about it and that surprises me if 232. it had been finally sold please send the yacht and the money to give to Kornelis Martense perhaps (he) could give you the flour to Pijster for which you gave the money (?) I saw him give money for flour you should now get a commission for yourself and Mr. Wessels and Japick had they been justices then de Suyts would have opened the court there at our place and then they could have concluded the action of Koyman up there see to it that you count on/settle accounts with Gijsbert our 6 guilder salt is finished I will speak to Salsberrie and send the yacht to fetch with this be commended to the Lord the greetings to Robbert and Ghijsbert and his family I am sending up a small barrel of butter for Madam Inghlesbie I do not hear from Kollens if he needs animals we presently have already 20 animals fattened it would be lour loss we have no feed to keep them your loving wife Alida Livinghston
