I am sending a jug of cherry-jam to Naetye, and 2 little pots of jam and a large basket of cherries [and] 2 bottles of rose-water. I send you 4 little bunches of tea for you, and a ham and 6 chickens in order [for you] to come up. Have Deko buy the 600 hundred one-inchers.1) I am sending you 12 [lb.] and 6 pence in New England money and 3 gu.2) to buy the 600 one-inchers for the joiner.

[The] 12 [lb.] and 6 pence are for buying chocolates. Let Naetye empty the 2 bottles and the pot containing jam. A little bowl of butter for you during the voyage.

Notes:
1) Alida writes: “de ins bredts 600 hondert”. I am not sure what she means by “ins bredts” (in the next sentence she spells “inbredts”). I think she refers to the 600 tacks mentioned in the preceding letter. In that case “de ins bredts” probably means: “the [one-] inch-broad things”, more specifically: “the one-inch tacks”.
2) “gu.” = “gulden” (both singular and plural).
