| Content Description | An agreement made between Bingham and Cobb for "several large and valuable tracts of Land in Sundry parts of the district Main" of Bingham's land. Cobb is named agent and superintendent of the land and agrees to reside on the land where he can manage the land to the best of his abilities. In addition, Cobb agrees to devote all of his time "to enhance the value of the said lands." He also agrees not to participate or interfere with any object of speculation or with the interests of the proprietors. In return, Bingham agrees to provide Cobb with a lot (2000 acres) of land in Goldsborough, Maine and a $1000 towards the building of a house. Bingham is to provide Cobb with a deed for the land and house. The agreement is to stay in effect for ten years, unless otherwise stipulated by Bingham or any of his heirs. If Bingham or his heirs at any time wish to make different arrangements Cobb is to received a written two year notice or compensation for two years. |
