Content Description | Partially printed certificate shows Jacob Rambo voluntarily enlisted at Fort Washington in the first regiment of levies to serve for six months. Also shows that Rambo swore an oath of allegiance. These levies were raised from a law signed by President Washington on 3 March 1791 to raise troops on the frontier. The document is signed twice by Rambo using an "X" for his mark. Sworn before and signed by A.E. Outlaw. Fort Washington was near Cincinnati, Ohio. |
