Content Description Nichols, Captain of Artillery Artificers, certifies that John Tharp, an artificer in his company, enlisted 27 November 1776, and "has never receved [sic] any gratuities from any state, nor bounties, excepting the Continental Bounty of Twenty Dollars, and the Hundred Dollars Bounty alowed by Congress to those Inlisted [sic] During the war."
