Additional Information Nathaniel Currier operated several printing agencies before becoming business partners with James Merritt Ives. Former names of Currier's printing businesses include Currier & Stodart, and N. Currier, Lithographer. Hamlin served as United States Representative from Maine 1843-1846, Senator 1847-1860 and 1869-1880, and as Vice President of the United States 1861-1865. Hamlin was nominated as the Republican candidate for Vice President May 1860.
