One section of the report states: "Abolitionists may not, therefore, slumber at their post, or relax a single effort. It is true, a mighty change has been wrought in individual sentiment within the last five years, favorable to the right of our colored countrymen; but public sentiment is still powerfully enlisted on the side of slavery." |
