Thanks him for the letter and says nothing but the critical situation he is in would excuse his troublesomeness. Says "be assured shou'd I even be so unfortunate as to remain prisoner for life, I shall ever remember with the greatest gratitude your civility to me." Tear has been repaired with tape on verso. |
