Content Description | Bancker solicits a position in the War Office, saying that William Livingston assured him of Knox's promise to let Bancker fill the next vacancy. Writes, "the Late War has Reduced me to the necessity of this application... for it will be a pleasing acquisition, not only admit of comfort to my self but a wife and six children..."
