Content Description | Translation of a copy of GLC02437.04842. Sends Otto documents from Schweizer & Jeanneret bankers. Otto will "see the offer of those individuals to charge themselves with the loan which Congress has opened in Holland, particularly to pay our demands." They still need the "directions of the President of the United States." Says Otto should consult Thomas Jefferson about the proposals as well. Insists they have always been deferential to Congress concerning this matter. |
