County, the Commissioners for the Expedition against Canada & Commissioners of the Indian affares" The Commissioners state that it would be a great risk to sail up the river into Canada during the winter, and make a number of suggestions of what to do in the mean time. They recommend placing garrisons in 3 new forts, repairing the forts at Albany and Schenechtady, keeping 200 Indians as scouts, and securing the loyalty of the 4 Nations. |
