Title | "The Camp at the Wood Creek Reviewed with an account of the Forces Built . . . |
Date | 16 August 1709 |
Document Type | Military document |
Content Description | . . . Between Albany and said Camp, and of the Forces Posted there in order for the Expedition against Canada and how they are Subsisted." The Review relates a number of concerns regarding the expedition to reduce Canada. The soldiers are described as unruly and lacking in military training, and there is a fear that many will become sick over the course of the winter. Provisions and equipment are transported with great expense and difficulty; and there is also the fear that the Indians' loyalty may falter and result in an attack against the English. |
