Content Description | Based on news from Kentucky, Clay predicts to Colonel Thompson that John Quincy Adams will beat Andrew Jackson for Presidency. Four years earlier, Clay, as a Kentucky Senator, had helped Adams defeat Jackson when the Presidential election came before Congress. Clay and Jackson would dislike each other from then on. In this election though, Jackson emerged victorious, even in Clay's state of Kentucky. |
