Content Description Discusses the evacuation of British troops from New York City. Suggests that American forces take over the city as soon as Sir Guy Carleton and his men leave to prevent disorder and damage to the city. Requests that Carleton give him 5-6 days notice before pulling out. Written in the hand of, and signed for Knox by, Samuel Shaw, Knox's aide-de-camp.
