Content Description Contains three parts: the first is an indenture in which the New Jersey Junction Railroad Company pays $18,000 to the United New Jersey Rail Road and Canal Company for specified lands and buildings in Jersey City, New Jersey. Morgan and Harris C. Fahnestock also relinquish all ownership of the lands and premises they own in this territory to the United New Jersey Rail Road and Canal Company. Signed by Josiah H. Reed, President, George S. Jones, Secretary, and Trustees Fahnestock and Morgan. Part two, written on 14 January 1887, declares that George S. Jones testifies to the authenticity of the indenture in the presence of Richard Hurley, a Commissioner of Deeds for the State of New Jersey in New York. Features Hurley's signature. Part three, written on 17 January 1887, declares that Morgan and Fahnestock testify to the authenticity of the indenture in the presence of Hurley. Features signatures of Hurley and George B. Fields, Register. Bound at the top with a green ribbon tie, and separated from typed docket information on an outside page. The document contains several foil seals and wax seals.
