Content Description | Thanks Knox for the letters of recommendation he furnished for Gardoqui's son, who left this morning. Writes, "Pray what would you advise me to do in respect to an invitation I had to dine with the President tomorrow? For I see by the papers that he has lost his mother & he will perhaps not be able to entertain company, or would preffer [sic] to be retir'd & yet his delicacy may prevent it. I wish you could inform me what would be most agreeable to the President that I may act accordingly." Don Diego Gardoqui signs as "J. Gardoqui." |
