Title | James Elliott to Robert Livingston re: apology for leaving Ancram |
Date | 22 September 1773 |
Author | Elliott, James (fl. 1744-1773) |
Recipient | Livingston, Robert |
Document Type | Correspondence |
Content Description | Elliott apologizes profusely for leaving his job at Ancram so abruptly, and is afraid that he has deeply offended Robert. He explains, however, that he was led to believe that Robert was tired of him, so he took it upon himself to move at the first available opportunity. Since he has left the Manor, Elliott says that his life has gone completely "dormant," as he does not know where to begin his business. He concludes by expressing a desire to return to his job at the Manor, if Robert will permit it. Docketed on verso. |
