Content Description Authorizes Dawson to raise a company of men in Halifax to serve under Lieutenant Colonel Commandant Bayard. Date on docket is 2 May 1780.

Additional Information Colonel John Bayard, along with his brother Major Samuel V. Bayard, raised the King's Orange Rangers, a loyalist regiment, raised chiefly in Orange County, New York. The corps left New York for Halifax in late 1778, and performed garrison duty there until the end of the Revolutionary War.
