Content Description | Informs Georgia Governor Rabun that Obediah Wright, whom Davis arrested for massacring Chehaw Indians, has been released through a writ of habeas corpus. Requests that Rabun have Wright returned to his custody. The Chehaw were American allies in the first Seminole War. After the massacre, Jackson sent Davis to arrest Wright, who had been a member of the Georgia militia. |
