Note at bottom of p. 1 signed by Huger asking the sugar to be sent to Captain Hamilton. Note on p. 2 signed by John Hamilton certifying receipt of the sugar on 28 August 1782. Mathews was the governor of South Carolina, 1782-1783. Written from Ashley River, South Carolina. |
