Content Description Thanks him for his letter, his congratulations, and his offers of service to him. Will be glad to hear anything he wishes to tell him. John Murray, Earl of Dunmore, was Governor of the Colony of New York from 1770 to 1771. He was Governor of Virginia from 1771 to1775 and Governor of the Bahamas from 1786 to 1796.
