Content Description | Writes to his mother that he misses her and advises her to get enough sleep and tend to her rheumatism. Describes his cross-country trip in a Duessenberg car, from Reno, to Nevada City, Nevada. Mentions that he went to Rockefeller Center last night. Comments that he has been lonesome in New York and misses the California weather. Informs her that he has been elected a director in the Petroleum Corporation and will attend their board meeting. Advises that he will travel to Europe but states that he does not want to stay away from home for more than three or four months. He does not like leaving her or his family. Concludes by remarking on business after the Depression, "Business sentiment here in New York is better. It appears we have reached the bottom and from now on conditions should slowly improve. It will of course take four or five years before things are booming again, in my opinion." Signed "Paul," and written on stationery of the Plaza hotel. |
