Content Description Signed for Knox by Samuel Shaw, Knox aide-de-camp. Large chart describing amounts of clothing (hats, coats, vests, woollen breeches, linen breeches, leather breeches, shirts, socks, overalls, stockings, shoes, and blankets) distributed to various units in the artillery. Note on page two says the shipment was sent by public agents from Boston, Massachusetts to Fishkill, New York. From there part of it was sent to White Plains, New York under the control of Captain Lillie, the brigade quartermaster. Lillie turned in his vouchers in August 1778 and turned over the clothing to William Richards, the Conductor of Military Stores. In October 1778 it was necessary to send the clothing to Fredericksburgh, New York. This was done, as shown by Captain Shaw's vouchers. No further receipts were given for this shipment. Signed in a secretarial hand by Knox. Dated August 1783 in what appears to be a modern hand.
