Content Description | Draft of a treaty between the United States and the Creek nation stipulating that Creek Chief Alexander McGillivray would be the liaison with the "rank of Brigadier General." The "great medal chiefs" will also be granted a commission and two agents, one in the upper and one in the lower Creeks, will be assigned to "assist in the attempt to civilize the indians..." The United States will also furnish the Creeks with domestic animals and tools. Continues to list points regarding the treaty. Date listed in pencil at a later date. |
