Front page prints recently passed U.S. laws, including acts to provide trials for minor offences and to incorporate homes for women and children. Editorial titled "The Doomed City" describes events in Virginia and details the state's transgressions, including its endorsement of the massacre of colored troops at Fort Pillow. Describes the late reconnaissance toward Kinston. "Affairs About Petersburg." Interesting reminiscence about George Washington's last vote. Ink manuscript notes.
