Content Description | Signed by L. Thomas. Proceedings of Captain Samuel H. Montgomery's court martial on charges of conduct unbecoming an officer and violation of orders. Montgomery had written two articles for the "Pennsylvania Argus" chastising General Scott's armistice with Santa Anna and criticizing the command of the 2d Pennsylvania Regiment. He is dismissed from the service of the United States. |
