Additional Information Owen Lovejoy was the brother of Elijah Parish Lovejoy, the abolitionist who was famously murdered while defending his printing press from a pro-slavery mob. Owen Lovejoy was also a prominent abolitionist and confidante of Abraham Lincoln.
