Content Description | A receipt for shoes for slaves belonging to Thomas Winn, with two autograph notes signed, one on the front, and one on the verso. The receipt itself is for the purchase of shoes for slaves made by Thomas Winn from Stephen W. Seay, and is dated 20 December 1823. The receipt may have been written by Winn. At the bottom of the page is an autograph note signed by L. Weaver, stating that the debt on the receipt has been paid in full to Seay, dated 8 October 1825. On the verso is an autograph signed note by Seay, stating that John Winn has paid off Thomas Winn's debt, dated 8 October 1825. |
