Content Description Receipt to the Committee of War in Rhode Island for Thomas Howard to receive his wages, which is 9 shillings New York currency, as a member of Major Burkett's Company. Says to pay unto Cornelius Culnon. The receipt also instructs to "deduct the Same Out of the Wages first due to me as a Soldier." Howard signed his mark with an "X." Document appears to have been written by Andrew Leishman.
