Content Description | Witnessed by Leroy Peachy, Samuel Griffin, and William Griffin. The power of attorney had been granted by Burges Ball and John Payne, and their wives, and pertained to the administration of land in Virginia. Also contains a copy of the identity and marriage certification made by James Gordon, the justice of the peace for Lancaster County, Virginia, as well as James Ball, Dale Carter, and Richard Mitchell. A note on the verso by Thomas Griffin indicates that the certification was recorded in a court in Lancaster County on 15 September 1774. |
