Content Description | Printed circular letter to collectors of the customs. Requests a statement of the amount of specie imported and exported through the station for the last three months. Hereafter the collector is to make weekly reports of these amounts: "Those statements will specify the places from which imported, or to which exported; the names of persons importing or exporting; the amount imported or exported by each, and whether in coin or bullion." Knight was Collector of the Customs of Marblehead, Massachusetts. Signed as Secretary of the Treasury. |
