WIth autograph endorsement signed by Jefferson Davis on the verso: "Secty of Treasury for attention, the purpose is known and approved I hope the aid asked for can be promptly given - Jeffn Davis." With Confederate twenty cent tax stamp. Mallory was Confederate Secretary of the Navy. |
