Additional Information | Bland Ballard (1819-1879) was a federal district judge in Kentucky appointed by President Abraham Lincoln at the beginning of the Civil War. He was a strong antislavery advocate and his district was responsible for a large number of convictions for treason during the war. William Cassius Goodloe (1841-1889) was a chairman of the Republican National Committee and served as minister to Belgium under President Rutherford B. Hayes. |
