Content Description The document provides evidence from 3 different individuals regarding Hillegard van Slichtenhorst, who became pregnant out of wedlock. The child's father, Peter Lund, refused to marry van Slichtenhorst. The first testimony was given by Anne Davenport, who stated that when she asked Lund why he would not marry van Slichtenhorst to preserve her honor, he replied that he could not marry her after the city magistrates termed her a whore and put her in jail. Testimony was also given by Goodrich Hayes, and Elsie Slicht, the midwife called when van Slichtenhorst was to be delivered. Slicht testified that the child's father was Peter Lund.
