Content Description | Certifies the sale of one quarter of a league of land "on the Trinity River near Cashatta Village" from Richardson to Edward Hall of Houston, Texas, for $1,000. The land had been granted to Richardson on 20 November 1835. Witnessed by George R. Robertson. An autograph and signed note by J.H. Griffin on the second page indicates that the sale was recorded in the Liberty County records on 2 May 1841. |

Additional Information | Richardson was one of Stephen F. Austin's "Old 300" colonists. He joined the volunteer army under Francis W. Johnson in 1835 and participated in the Grass Fight and the siege of Bexar. He then served as secretary of the meeting held at Chocolate Bayou to elect delegates to the Convention of 1836. |
