Content Description Includes detailed descriptions of the conspirators in the court room. The testimony of A. W. Lee (military detective), Mr. Floyd, and Robert R. Jones (clerk of Kirkwood House) are also given. Jefferson Davis and his family are captured in Irwin County, Georgia by Col. Pritchard. Davis attempts to escape by disguising himself in his wife's petticoat. Along with Davis and his family, Postmaster General Reagan, Col. Harrison his personal secretary, and others were also captured.

Additional Information The first issue of The New York Daily Times was published on September 18, 1851. "Daily" was dropped from the title in 1857. The paper was founded by Henry Jarvis Raymond and George Jones.
