Recipient | Knox, Henry |
Document Type | Correspondence; Business and financial document; Land transaction document |
Content Description | References Knox's letter of 3 June. Describes the situation of the debt Hannah Flucker Urquhart Harwood owes Henry. Reports that other creditors in England have also laid claim to part of the debt and they have filed a "Bill in Chancery to prevent Your receiving any part of it." Goes on to update him further. Says he saw Mrs. Harwood, who claimed to have lands in America which would satisfy Knox's demands. Reports that she is willing to sign them over to Knox "at a Fair price." Recommends Knox takes the deal because any dividends he might win in Chancery court will probably be less than his demand. |
