Content Description | Letter dated 30th September, no year. The front page of the letter is a printed song, "The Union Soldiers' Song". The weather is very hot. He describes an accident where a man smashed his hand in or about the cars and the surgeon had to remove a finger. He doesn't know when the cavalry will be called upon, as the infantry is always wanted first. |
