Content Description Transmitting the report of the Director of the Budget for the fiscal year ending 30 June 1922, "prepared in response to...House Resolution 285," to an Illinois congressman. Discusses reductions in government costs and expenditures and concludes that his administrative practices will convey "the determination of those in authority to operate the government effectively at the least possible cost, to make the government's full contribution to a return to the normal ways of peace, and ultimately lifting the excessive burdens of taxation." Typed on White House stationery. The second page appears on the fourth page leaf and the final page on the inner right leaf.
