Content Description | Hull, commandant of West Point, thanks Knox for resolving the disagreement between Hull and artillery officer Sebastian Bauman. Reports on the case of two soldiers arrested for breaking into the home and store of David Sands, a Quaker. Complains about the lack of clothing among troops, noting "... instead of that uniformity of Dress, so essential to the good appearance of Troops, we have not in many instances even a shirt to cover the soldiers' nakedness..." Relates news of other matters related to West Point and the surrounding area. |
